So much for keeping up. A lot has happened since my last post, so let me try to recap it all.
A Quick Recap
For starters, Charlie stopped talking to me in February, saying that he’s “toxic” for me. It breaks my heart, and I think about him often. Maybe someday I’ll be able to move on.
I got back into school, only to be in a car accident and sustain a concussion. The concussion has been severely affecting my ability to keep up, so I ended up withdrawing for the semester a couple of weeks ago. That was a hard blow to take, since it’s going to set me back another semester, but it’s better than getting a semester with a handful of F’s.
I’ve also been out of work with no pay for over a month, because [REDACTED]’s HR department sucks and originally told me to fill out the wrong forms. It took them over a month, with me calling several times to check on it, to finally tell me, by snail mail no less, that the forms I filled out were the incorrect forms to file and I had to go through the company that handles their insurance claims for paid medical leave. I wasn’t at fault for the accident, so the other guy’s auto insurance is paying for my lost wages, but they won’t pay out anything until I’m actually back at work, so Tim’s been broke as fuck.
I had an argument/fight thing with my family. It resulted in them going out to dinner without me and me packing up and leaving (for my apartment back at Purdue) while they were gone. I’m declining to speak to them for the time being, I think it’s best for all of us. I’ll have to go back the week of Thanksgiving for Tim’s Pie-Palooza (more on that later) and to get going on another project.
In Other News…
There isn’t really any. I’ve been working on some side projects, trying to keep busy. I still have those incompletes to finish from last fall, so I’ve been working on those too.
I usually do not approve of Christmas talk before Thanksgiving, but here it goes. Being as broke as I currently am, I’ve decided I’m going to make everyone’s gifts this year by putting my 3D printer and sciencey know-how to work (this is that “another project” I mentioned above). My little cousins, who aren’t so little anymore, on my father’s side of the family are getting 1:2000 scale models of various StarWars space ships. The oldest is getting the Executor, Darth Vader’s Super Star Destroyer. It’s going to be almost a full meter long (950mm)!
It’s almost time for Tim’s Pie-Palooza! Every year for Thanksgiving, my friend Nicole and I spend literally ~24 hours baking pie, Pumpkin (the all-American) and Apple (from Kazakhstan, dontcha know). This year I’ve invited some more friends, all of whom will get a pumpkin pie for their contribution of labor, and an apple pie for anyone who brings their own apples!
The new MacBook Pro has arrived and OMG I want it. I can get a not insignificant amount for my current one if I trade it in, which I would (it’s in excellent condition). My current custom build of the new one is $3,559, before tax and an AppleCare plan. I’ll put the build info below!
Well that’s it for now, my readers. I’m going to go play a little Stonehearth while I finish waking up and think about if I really need/want that new MacBook Pro and how I’m going to attack today. Until next time!
As promised, here’s the specs for the new 16″ MacBook Pro I’ve selected.
